A little on the large side, but simply perfect! These have to be among my favorite angels and I can say that these are amazing. I hope someone with a gorgeous reef tank (cough cough Jeremy) gets these fish.

Other than Micheal's stating how aggressive they can be, if I had my 135 G dream system up, they'd be there NOW!
Alas, it is just a dream at the moment.

My 5" blueline is not aggressive at all but he is in a 350g with a much larger Queen, Blue Ring, Blue face and Scribbled.

$999 is nuts. These fish are not that rare and I'll bet they are fairly easy to pair up.

I have kept bluelines before and agree that they are not terribly aggressive.

As for $999 being nuts, I do NOT agree. These are superbly conditioned fish and you would be hard pressed to find healthier fish. Kevin does a great job at conditioning fish, and whoever buys this pair can be rest assured they will receive very clean fish.

More recently, the bluelines that have entered US have been subpar in health... 999 may be steep but you're assured a healthy fish. Otherwise it may take 3 or 4 until you find a healthy one which would end up costing you 2x as much.

Agreed on the price, pretty fair, esp. for a pair.

I think the issue is in their description and why they haven't sold yet, "eating only from the ground." I think the typical aquarist that would purchase these, would put them in a large SPS reef tank, where flow and the other tankmates present an issue.

I just recently sold my pair that I had for a year and a half for half the price of the DD specimens. I am thinking I may have short changed myself, lol! Mine were 2.5" and 3" when I got them direct from Taiwan. When I sold them they grew about and inch in the time I had them. Mine were not aggressive at all, but i can tell you the will pick at softies and eat Zoas. I never tried keeping them with any other coral.I may get a small juvie for my new tank setup though.

I did not post this thread to discuss the pricing of these fish. Only to state that they are a gorgeous pair and that I hope whoever gets them posts pictures.

Lighten up Michael. The price on this pair is significant and relevant. You are being very defensive about it. It's like you have an ownership interest in Diver's Den.

He could be concerned about it getting too argumentative. Then the thread could get closed.

I'm not that thrilled about these particular angels. They just don't trip my trigger, I guess :)

I think yours are kept in place by the other angels! Especially that Queen!
Is someone raising CB ones now in Taiwan? I hear rumors..

Matthew

wow awesome angels!! i wish they shipped to canada lol! i would get them in a heart beat no matter the price as it is very hard to come across some healthy and eating specimens been looking for over a year now for a smaller one of these babies.

Have them shipped "Hold for pickup" to a FedEx Office near the US/Canada border. Then just make the drive to and from.

Todd,

You wrote: " Have them shipped "Hold for pickup" to a FedEx Office near the US/Canada border. Then just make the drive to and from. "

People need to be very careful about that. USFWS in Detroit is confiscating fish from people that have tried that. I'm not certain what their interest is in this (since the fish are LEAVING th US) but evidently it is against some law. People need to declare the animals in crossing and need to make sure that Environment Canada is o.k. with it. Because it seems to take multiple shipments before USFWS notices, a single transport is unlikely to land you in trouble. However, NEVER do that with corals (CITES II) going US to Cananda or anything Canada to the US as they ARE watching for single instances of that.

While I do NOT work for LA, I do support them as both an industry pioneer and trustworthy vendor that supports RC.

The first fish that I bought when I started the hobby were from LA, and I have been a loyal customer ever since. They have several practices that I wish most aquatic-livestock vendors would use, and LA provides us with some of the healthiest livestock available.

When I sound defensive, maybe I am. There is no sense in bashing the pricing of these fish when, you do not know the story behind them. These are extremely healthy fish that have been adapted to captivity for quite some time. Plus they are truly paired up, which takes the risk out of trying to do this yourself.

So lets drop the pricing argument, and admire a gorgeous pair of fish. :)

I have been waiting for a pair like this:( Too bad my pool was damaged from the ice and snow here. I had to replace it a couple days ago and there went my fish funds for the summer. :( Oh well still might be able to squeek a cheap single in.
