hi everyone,

does any one have seahorses with there reef nanos?

i have a 12 gallon reef and i just got a tank raised black seahorse he was eating first day and no signs of stress. i put chop sticks in the sand and he wraps around them. i know reefs are not the sea horses natural habitat. but i was wondering if any one has had them long term in a nano

thanks dave

I would double check on seahorse.org but as my cube mate here at work is big in to them i asked and he said dwarfs would be about the only thing he would put in a tank smaller then a 20G tall.
Even then the dwarfs would be a bit tough to spot feed in a 12 and you could end up over feeding the water column and destabilize your parameters.
You maybe fine with them for awhile but do have a larger tank to make their permanent home in.
seahorses like tall tanks to swim and play in.
