hey man, whats up, nice tank, i like it alot. where in ft lauderdale do you get your corals from? i used ot lvie down there in coral srpings and am coming down next week ot visit my firnds, but i want to stop by a store and get soem zoo's for my tank

how far away is the hqi from the water's surface. I am getting a 250hqi for my 20cube and was wondering about where I should start the light as the tank is used to 144wt PC at the moment. I guess I should start at about 1.5 feet?

thanks for the compliments guys. shotgun- i only have one fish in there because the small water volume acros like clean water so im trying to keep the feeding and waste down as little as possible. therte is a sixline wrasse to eat any rock pests.

colinadam- its actually quite easy all i do is water change once a week and add marinvit once a week.

reefking- i get my corals from coral reef farm and reefs edge both stores are awesome they have the nicest stock and the owners r really nice. if u want directions message me or pm me. coral reef farm is actually a sponsor if u look in the sponsors section but their nice stuff sells before they can post on the web with pics.

flricordia- the hqi is about 12 inches off the surface have it adjusted as high as it goes up. i started them all off on the bottom for a week until they polyped and then moved them up slowly. 12 inches would be fine for u b/c in my tank it is about 12 watters per gallon and your 20 wont be that intense. good luck post some pics when u do it id be interested to see it.

Nice tank you should get a scraper and take off the coraline algae and whatever else is on the front glass.Im hoping for my 12 gal dlx to look similar to yours:rollface:Is it topless?

ya the glass was really dirty cuz i just did a water change and it had water on it that was smeared but i like coralline look on the back. the powerhead in the back is a rio 800 and it flows very nicely i think the rating is 230gph. im gonna put another powerhead in the same compartment but drill a hole just big enough for the little output to stick through the wall into the tank so it sucks water out of the compartment and has the powerhead effect but the whole thing isnt in the small tank. that will be hooked to a wavemaker. this tank is temporary until i have the cube tank i want made by christmas. yes the tank is topless it has alot better cooling topless but it also evaporates alot of water between the hqi and the no top. good luck post pics of ur tank and if u have any questions pm me ill help u out with w/e u need. also if ur doing sps in that tank i found weekly water changes and marinvit once a week works amazing.

king if u go in to reefs edge on orange by the turnpike tell him tommy sent u and hell take good care of u the owner mark is my good friend.
