12 Ultra Premium LED DIY Kit

I haven't used it, but it is only a basic mix of royal blue and cool white. Good basic LED combo and decent LEDs selected (depending on the bin of the XPG2 which I didn't see detailed - not even confirmation of the colour, beyond a vague "ours are typical 6000K").

Have you tried pricing up the individual components you'd need instead of buying the kit? 6 XPG2 cool white, 6 XTE royal blue, optics (if you want them), 1 (or better - 2) meanwell LDDs, a PSU (48V if using one LDD, 24V if using two LDDs), some wire...

I have tried to price these individual on ebay for example.. the cheapest i've been able to come without wire and only one driver is $65.. Can you do it any cheaper or have a better plan? I also need to buy a heat sink on top of both options.

I'd send a message to 2012beautifullife on eBay and ask her for a price on 6 XPG2 cool white, 6 XTE royal blue, a meanwell LDD PCB, 2 meanwell LDD 1000s and see what she says. Then you need any 24V PSU that can give 60W or higher and you are good to go, running the lights without dimming - for a heat sink, try farnell:

If you want to add dimming, all you need is an arduino nano v3 (couple of bucks off eBay) and a laptop to program it, and you can code yourself sunrise and sunset (might need an RTC for a buck or two if you don't want to use a timeswitch).

Oh, and if you do the above, the controller can alter the levels of the blue and whites separately so you could use the blues for night lights as well :)
