My dilemma, I need a 120 gallon 48 x 24 x 24 inch tank for my basement in wall build.
Marineland/Perfecto is running a sale right now and I can get one for $300. The Aqueon/All-Glass equivalent is $400. I am going to be using a Glass-Holes 1500gph overflow as I need more height over the reef ready versions of the tanks (plus it looks better).
Anyways I have read that the Perfecto 120 tanks are 3/8 inch glass and the Aqueon 120 is 1/2 glass. The opinions were that you should not drill a 3/8 inch glass tank that's 24" tall, and actually preferred a 5/8 glass to drill a 24" tank. This was an older topic and not sure if it's still the same or not.
Does anyone know if the Perfecto 120 tank is still 3/8 glass or if it would be safe to drill for overflow?
I'm really trying to find a used All-Glass tank but I am coming up short on used 120's in my area, I've looked at 2 and they were both scratched all to hell and back.
