120 Oceanic w/ Centerbrace ?'s

I've been looking for a 120 Oceanic. Found one at a lfs, but it has a centerbrace. Since I am doing sps, a centerbrace is not good. Has anybody removed a centerbrace and then eurobraced the sides? If so, how wide was the glass you used on the sides? Did you just silicone it in place?

The price is right on this one! I could also get it now. Not a lot of choices currently in my area. I had a 110 tall that was the same footprint as a 90 and the "brace" glass was 2.5" wide. Just looking from input from others as I'm sure this has been done before.

Why not go with the oceanic put a "island" of rock on one side of the tank and another on the other throw a halide over each and call it beautiful?

I really like the look of a good aquascape over the wall of rock look.

Thought about that, but the wife doesn't like the double island look. She finally gave me the ok, sooo I'm not rocking the boat

I'm setting up a new tank and my ideal tank was the Oceanic 140 RR but I hated the big centerbrace.

I ended up custom ordering an OceanView Eurobraced with dual corner overflows with the same dimensions as the Oceanic 140 48.5"x24.5"x29"

The tank will be constructed with 1/2" glass and have 2.5" wide eurobracing.

That's about all the help I can give since I just ordered the tank on Friday.

I would definitely check out the AGA 120. It has a narrow 3" or 4" center brace and I doubt the Oceanic 120 will be cheaper.

That was a joke. I completely understand as I am married too. Just had my 1st anniversary.

I have really liked the valley look since viewing steve weast's tank. I think it looks more natural but that is my opinion and nothing more. I personally think that oceanic is a better crafted tank than the all-glass.
