The system is tuned to drain into the sump, but not overflow the sump in case of power outage
Once power returns, the system starts back up automatically.
No generators - my school is 'in-town' in Ridgefield, so power outages are extremely rare - in 8 years working at the school, the school lost power 1 or maybe 2 times, so not a big concern
I have thought about buying a UPS or even a generator, but just not worth it
