120 reef to 210 build up

well I have had a 120 reef for about 6 years now... got a GREAT deal on a used 210. so the process took 4 days to complete.. from pick up and setup. Maroonman on these forums helped me on pretty much everything.... thanks again. on with the pics

the 210 tank take over... wifey was such a sport dealing with my mess!!!

put down some of that grate stuff so the rocks are sitting on that instead of the glass

taped up the tank. painted the back glass black... i like that look..makes everything pop i think

Since it was used... and i dont want any iusses with the stand... braced it

even wifey got into it!!!

Finally filled with live rock, sand and water.. had an issue with my return pump.. it wouldnt work... had to replace that...

it took a full evening of running to clear it all up.. changed the sock filters about 4 times...LOL.. here it is.. this is with the center 250MH on.
total is 1 250MH 14K center and 150 14k on each end... its what i had to work with so I put them to good use

Looks good, how do you like the 150's on each side of the 250?

Well....I got thinking about it....and I like the idea of the 150watt MH on each side because I can put cetain corals that would normal be low in the tank due to too much light a 250 would put out to mid to high in the tank on the sides....since the lightning isn't as intense there...just an after thought but it makes sense to me, but I could be wrong.

Thanks everyone....igot somemore pics last night will post up tonight. My wifes requirment for this tank was a lot of rock structure, with caves and nooks...so I started using flatter live rock to get the "shelves" and holes. It really came out great....my Kole tang jets in and out pretty fast....

Nice tank. Be careful with the green star polyp. I had to spend hours to kill them since they grow into many big rocks.

Thanks everyone...and yea I found that out about the star polyps...already broke some off for a friend of mine...LOL. will be working on it this weekend and will get some different pics...I need to get a different lens for my camera....
