I am not sure as well so someone else who does know chime in but it is not dead that is for sure because I can see the little hands moving on it. The ones that pass the food along. The base buried itself under the sand and the arm moves around all day looking for food.

If the arm has a part of the central disk attached to it it can regenerate into a whole new star, thats one method of star reproduction.

Yeah I have 3 oscellaris(SP) clowns and a leopard wrasse, taking it slow at the moment maybe a fish a week. I really want a black oscellaris to make a set of 4 but I havent found one yet that catches my eye
