Have you decided what equipment you want to run? With no equipment, can do small drain chamber (filter sock optional), large refugium, then return chamber.

Wow I felt I am reading my own thread for a minute [emoji6]
I recently upgraded from my small Aqueon Proflex 4 sump to a 72" long 125 G DIY sump. I design my sump based on over/under method. I have attached picture of my design for your reference.

As you can see water enters the sump thru 3 x 1" drains which than overflows into the second chamber tht holds 3 x 4" filter socks. Than the water enters into mechanical filtration chamber which houses my skimmer and reactors and than enters into a 36G refugium and than into the last return chamber. Good luck.

Sorry for the rough sketch but picture kind of gives you an idea on how best you can utilize this big sump...you will enjoy it...i wanted to get as big refugium as possible so a 36" long was good enough...i will take a pic of my sump in action tonite and send it over...

Better to be redundant than and overkill than not enough measure it twice cut 1 time and I want a cryptic area in another section not in my refugium
