Id get those xenia's out of there, before you know it they will be taking over your tank

I have found that you can trim the xenia at the right time and you can control them. My first ones got long and leggy and started to spread (didn’t' know what was happening). I scrapped the spreading new ones off and took the scissors to the original one cutting it almost to the rock. Well, apparently I taught it a lesson (meant to kill it) and it is now a model citizen and if it even thinks about stretching out, out come the scissors. I think they are really interesting and I receive more comments from guests who enjoy watching its rhythmic pulsing....

It has been about four or five months since I last trimmed them (I have three that I have allow to prosper) so it is moderate effort and high reward, at least for me. I have a newer one I picked up at the Nashville swap that seems to stay short. It looks to have a blue tint to it, but I have a lot of blue in my lamps. I just gave two to Matt so I am curious to see how they do under his MH (or he may have put in his smaller tank T-5s?). BTW, Matt (Ocean Blue - he actually looks better than the pic he uses for his avatar - I think that was his high school senior picture) has a really cool L shaped tank. I really like how the bottom cabinet is much taller than normal so that I (6' 3") can actually stand and enjoy it.....I think the tank itself is also taller....

I also enjoy the GSP I see in the pic. It can be a problem if you don't keep it in check, but I find it to be more challenging because of the way it spreads (encrusting)....Mrs. Fields special icing works for me but takes more effort. Otherwise, I really enjoy the motion from the current on it as well..........

Matt: Not sure if it is just me, but none of your pics will open up on my end....not sure if others are having the same problem...if so, you might want to repost...
