Yall I need some help

I have a 125 gallon AGA with custom stand and canopy for sell now I guess.

I filled it with water from the hose today. When I walk by the water moves from front to back in the tank. Not jump up in down in front of it....JUST WALK BY IT!

The stand is built to hold up a house, out of 2x6's and 2x4's with plywood on the inside for flex purposes. My last tank was on a slab so I had no problems. I am on crawl space now. I am not afraid of it falling over really. You would hafta push it to make it fall but I don't like the fact that the water moves when I WALK BY IT. I have a pretty heavy dog likes to run around from time to time and he might knock it over. Wife says I can't get rid of the dog so the tank might hafta go.

I braced the floor is three spots with floor jacks and 2x6's. two of the jacks under the floor are spread across three of the floor joist, one of the jacks is only spread across two because of coper pipe that is under my house that is in the way. The tank is sitting on two joist and it runs the length of the joist. There isn't a wall in my house were I could sit it so it would sit on more than two..STUPID FIRE PLACE IS IN THE WAY

Does anyone else have a tank on crawl space? If so how are you bracing it? Does it slosh water when you walk by?

Mine is. A 75 with a 20 gallon sump, and alot of rock. I used two floor jacks, and placed it along a wall near a corner. Before the floor jacks the water level moved abit. After it was rock solid. I could not knock it over if I tried.

I have tanks over my crawl space (all of the ones in my signature). I don't think I have ever seen water move from me walking by. Just walking by and seeing water move would really scare me. I would worry about the integrety of the tank. Seems like it would be real easy for the tank to become unlevel.

My 90 gallon is over a crawl space. But it is on the main support wall of the house that is reinforced under the house. I am still thinking of putting some jacks under it though. Just for my satisfaction.

None of my tanks have support in the crawl space. So far so good. I am sure my fridge has the same weight square inch by square inch as my tanks.

I have a 125 over a crawl space one end is over the mail support the other has a 14000 lb house jack under it for support.
Did you put a 2x6 across the joist and the jack against the 2x6? if so that was not right. you should have supported it before filling it with water, if a sag occurred you would have some major turning to do to get the sag out with all that water in the tank. the jack is best against the joist.

I have a 180 gallon over a crawl space (4 feet from a load bearing wall). Before install, I inner-connected floor joists with 4x4's (in 4 points over the length of the tank). Then I added (4) 4x4 support stands (direct to joists and inner-connects) going to concrete bases (decking bases-available at Home Depot) located on the dirt of the crawl space.
After filling I did the jump test (I'm a big boy), and no water movement was seen.
If you see water movement just walking by the tank (regardless of you're size), by all means, remove all water, re-think you're support mechanism, and then re-fill.
We have several engineers on this page (past or present), who can help you get it right! This hobby is not worth damaging you're biggest investment (you're home). PLEASE, drain the problem, rethink the situation, fix, and re-fill.

I know in my house just my 40 breeder shakes a little. I have it supported against a load bearing wall and it still ripples the water a little when you just walk buy it but this is only 40 gallons and im worried about it so im gonna support the floor sometime soon. If i had 125 gallons id be freaking all the time but i get paranoid easy so thats just me. my sister inlaw has a 150 gallon and hers would make waves when her dogs would play in the house or just walking by it would make it ripple pretty good and i always thought that she was crazy for not being worried about it but shes had it up for 4 plus years now but i couldnt sleep at nite if it were me. anyways good luck with it.

My 40H would move ~1" back and forth when I first set it up and just sat on the couch, etc. I braced and now have a 125, 120, 7.5, and 10 gallon top off reservoir on the same wall;). No movement:).

Come on Gflat, give him some real numbers, you and I both know you can, Oh, that's right I can too, I forgot :)
My input is the same, drain the problem, fix the support, and go from there.
