Nice, I like the DIY rock. I also like the fact you have left lots of room for corals to grow and fish to swim;)

Chris

Thanks I'll have to give that a Try tomorrow! The one on the left side might be harder to do since the piece with the caves in it on the bottom is one big piece But I'll see what I can come up with Im liking the right hand side better for some reason

Thanks! they turned out better then I thought they would not much more rock will go into it but the stuff in the 25 to seed it with once everything else is done Im not a big fan of the rockwall look :)

New Left Island

I think I am going to leave the right side as is since its made of smaller pieces and leave the left open for bigger fish I like how it turned out

Bravo john! that looks much better in my opinion. this way you can have a hiding place for the larger ones. my sohal loves to go between the rocks as I set him up some caves.

It's looking real good!!! When I'm ready to get the new tank, I need to talk to you about those DIY rocks....

John A,

You can turn some of your rock on their edges (vertical) after getting them a little in the sand and place your flat pieces on top. This will create a ton of caves and create much better water flow.

This will also give you more height without just stacking rock on rock wasting precious coral space. The rock turned vertically will then be able to support life as well allowing the most space available while still being a support.

Looks great, And in the end it's your reef and who cares what others think! :-)

Well More rock will be added and this way seems to be able to work with the future addition That is a good and May add that into the live rock that will be added but what I have here took about 2 hours to get right and a slight headach lol :D

what kind of lights will you be using as you might want an area of vertical space to place some light loving corals in the future. Just a suggestion. I made DIY rock for filtration in my first tank, it was fun to do!

I'll be using MH The other rock that will be added I've planned to try and make some low light areas for just that reason but thanks for the advice its always welcomed :)
