Getting ready to set up a second tank , a little bigger than the 75 gl. I have been running for years, Was looking for some ideas on a good sump size to use on this tank , it's a 125 megaflow tank , first tank I've ever had that doesn't use a overflow so will be configuring some plumbing with this also .Thanks for any advice on this

Can you drill it and add an overflow?

What do you mean by it doesn't use an overflow? The tank has dual overflows doesn't it?

My dad just bought a used 125 that came with a sump that fits in the stand. I can take some pictures when I see him if it's something you might be interested in.

Is it an Aqueon Megaflow? Did you buy it used or from a shop? Which shop if so?

Have been looking around for a sump and skimmer that would be a good match with the tank , I do have a 75 gl. that I could convert to a sump but would rather go with one ready to go

Purchased a trigger 36" sump for the build , now looking for a skimmer have been using reef octopus skimmers , looking for just the right size to get for it

Everything coming together, just picked up a classic 150 skimmer, next is to figure out how much flow I need from a return pump, have used danner pumps for years but might be looking for something a little more efficient

DC pumps are the future unless you need larger head pressure

How reliable are DC pumps ? How big of a pump would I need for this size of tank?

more reliable but because they have less torque they need more maintenance from calcium build up.

Personally i would get something in the 1,500 GPH range. With DC pumps you can turn them down and save electricity. So always get a larger pump
