please no flames about my tang selction.

Thanks Jeff

Personally, I'd keep the 2 tangs you have already and not get the powder blue. I think the angel is OK, but may grow too big eventually. Wrasses are a good choice for adding color to a tank, but need peaceful tankmates. I'd be concerned about the wrasses and the clownfish. Clowns can be pretty territorial and it won't take much harassment for any of the wrasses to jump. That being said, cover the tank. As far as wrasses not adding much to the bioload, that's debatable. Fairy wrasses need frequent feedings IMO, much like anthias. I would add the angel last. I am sure you will get other opinions.

I might not agree with that statement about fairy wrasses - mine is quite active, and given they need very regular feedings, there's some bioload.

the thing is if i want this agel fish at a low price i need to ge t himw ehn my boss does a transhipment from africa 100 doallrs now or 400 dollars later. May be you ar eright abou th tpowder blue ill give it some tohught and thanks for no flame any other input. does my fairy wrasse list seem comaptible?

I would with a yellow headed jawfish insted of the blue spot. They tend to be cheaper, hardier and there are alot more of them, alot of the blue spots, do not make it and they are illegal to import into the US, so they have to basically truck them into the country and it is horrible shipping conditions and a long period of time. I would say for the sake of the fish, get the yellow headed jawfish,

I can tell you that they are one of the coolest fishes in the world to own, I loved mine, you will sit and watch him for hours.

I agree fairy wrasses are very active. We have 2 lineatus, 1 flame, 3 labouti in our 220 gallon (72x24x30) and they use every inch of it.

They also are known to jump so a secure top is a must.

I also think you might run into issues having a flame and a rosy fin, as males their coloration is very similar. Our flame (male) was the first wrasse and he has harassed all the others when first added and they have been drastically different colors from him.

so what do you tihnk is cooler?

A flame wrasse or a rose fin fairy?
What s cooler or is it possible for both to be done in the same tank?
obviosly a flame is about 10 time easier to obtain and isnt 300 dollars

I am sure it can be done, just do a small juvenile of one and then a larger male of the other. Keep in mind though most fairies as juveniles are not as nice looking as the supermales.

As far as which one is cooler? It depends on what you are after. For us, we are going to be keeping 3 of each (lineatus, flame and labouti) in groups of 1 male and 2 juvenile/females. Biggest thing is to mix size, age and color when mixing fairy wrasses.
