I'm building (still ongoing) and planning what to put in a 6' long 125 gallon tank. I'll also have a separate 40 breeder plumbed into the system. Still determining what to do with the 40. Maybe an anemone tank for the clowns. With the sump, fuge. I'll be at about 225gals in volume.

I currently have an existing 29g tank with some corals and fish. Midas Blenny, 2xOcellaris, 6-line wrasse. Skunk Cleaner shrimp. The 29gal will change duties to a quarantine/hospital tank later.

I'd like to put the following into the 125 gallon long: Sargassum Trigger, Blueline Trigger, possibly a magnificent Foxface and a tang (to be determined).

Will the fish from the 29gal will be ok with that population in the 125.. I'll likely add the triggers last, and together if possible. I realize there is some risk with shrimp with the triggers.

As for the 40B... I tossed around the following ideas: anemone/clown tank, mantis tank, coral/frag tank. Heck, it could be split 50/50 and serve two functions...

No blueline, way too aggressive and large and I'd worry about the clowns depending on their size, same with the shrimp.

I was tossing the idea of having my frag tank hooked up to my fish only system. There where a few reasons I decided not to. First, FO doesnt tend to have the same water quality as a reef tank so you may have a hard time maintaining good enough water for to keep the anemones happy.

Second, if something goes wrong in one section the problem will move to the second tank and make the problem bigger.

Just my opinion.

Good point. I was thinking to keep a reef in the trigger tank too and just stick a quality skimmer on the system. That may work. But, like you say, if there is a problem in one tank. The other tank will have it too.

a blueline will kill every other inhabitant. did you mean blue throat? if so the BT would be an awesome addition

oops, yeah I meant bluethroat :)

So.. correction:

Sargassum Trigger, BlueTHROAT Trigger, possibly a magnificent Foxface and a tang (to be determined). If room allows.. my 2xocellaris, 1x midas, and 6-line wrasse. I suspect a few of those won't be able to go in there...

I would get a pair of Blue Throats or Sargassums. It reduces the likelihood of aggression and paired triggers exhibit interesting interactions.
