So I measured my sister's tank that I am hopefully bringing to my house on saturday. the dimensions were as so

Tank Length = 72 inches
Tank Width = 18 inches
Tank Height = 23 inches
Tank volume is calculated as

Tank Volume = 129 Gallons

so that means that the tank is actually almost 130 gallons! does this seem like a normal measurement? it just seems odd to me since you don't see these sold very often.

Those numbers are the outside dimensions, the inside dimensions make it 125g. Forget what they are exactly... Make sense?

Common tank sizes used as names are not exact measurements, only ballpark figures.
Look at cubic inches in a 40 long vs. a 40 breeder to see an example.

I guess you're right as the dimensions on the sticker of the 30L are different then if I actually measured them myself. it's like the round the number up or something.
