Ok this is a premature stocking list and i wanted to know what you guys and gals think. I know i probly cant have all of these fish but this is what i have narrowed it down to. My tank is 125-150 gallon and it is 6ft long 18" depth and 23" tall.

Here is the list:

Flame Angel
Royal Gramma
Nasco Tang
Yellow Tang (Can this be kept in a school)
Sailfin Tang
2 x Blue Banded Goby
Firefish
Elegant Firefish
3 x Banggai Cradinalfish
2 x Mandrinfish
Blood shrimp
Cleaner shrimp
2 x Neon Goby
Yellow Prawn Goby
Black Ray Prawn Goby
Fox-face Rabbitfish (Maybe)
Pistol Shrimp
Candy Shrimp

I really want the firefish, flame angel, sailfin Tang, gobies, and all the shrimp i can get.

I would also like to know if any of these fish are not compatible

That is a great sized tank, especially if you are keeping fish that don't get huge, but like plenty of room to swim. Here are a few comments on your list:

These should all be okay - some with caveats
Flame Angel
Royal Gramma
Yellow Tang (Can this be kept in a school) - will fight, just keep one
Sailfin Tang - you might be able to keep, but they do get quite big
2 x Blue Banded Goby
Firefish
Elegant Firefish
3 x Banggai Cradinalfish
2 x Mandarinfish - should keep male and female - need established tank and live food (pods)- add ONLY to a mature tank - add last
Blood shrimp
Cleaner shrimp
2 x Neon Goby
Yellow Prawn Goby
Black Ray Prawn Goby
Fox-face Rabbitfish (Maybe) - I'd keep it INSTEAD of yellow tang
Pistol Shrimp
Candy Shrimp - what is this? check compatibility

not sure if you will have compatibility problems with the gobies. in this sized tank, I think not, but you might want to double check.

Not suitable
Naso Tang - ultimately too big and active for this tank

I really want to say all those gobies are compatible, as they're fairly different between each, but I don't know. Other then that, unless you plan to upgrade, skip on the Naso, he will get too big. And see if you find something else in place of the yellow tang. It and the Sailfin are both Zebrasoma tang's so compatibility is questionable. Like a Tomini, Chevron, Kole, etc...

Ok so i will skip out on the yellow tang and the nasco tang.

With the sailfin tang i worked out a deal with my fish dealer and when he gets to max growth if i think he is to big the dealer will tank him back and give me what i paid for the tang and like $50 extra since he will be full grown. I thought this was a good deal and wa sworth the risk of taking the tag.

I dont really like any of the other tangs so i will just keep the silfin and leave some extra room

The gobies will be my pride and joy along ith the madrin fish which i do plan on doing last cuz of the pods

So i will go with the fox-face rabbitfish then

I talked to my dealer and he siad the gobies should be fine and he said again if i had any problems he would re fund the money or trade fish.

Any suggests on which ones to stock fist would be aprreicitated

Add the firefish first, then the neon gobies. I would add the prawn's and blue banded's together at the same time. The Baggai's together, then the Gramma. The final 3 would depend on size. Assuming the typical purchase size, add the flame (~2.5"), the foxface (4"), then the sailfin (~4"). If the sailfin is smaller add him before. I wouldn't recommend those micro ~1" sailfins you see from time to time.

Sprinkle them in, early on. Might want to wait on the pistol shrimp to add with the prawns. Shouldn't matter too much. Still unsure what a "Candy Shrimp" is though... (Peppermint? Make sure it's not a camel shrimp before you add him). I would get 2 cleaners and 2 peppermints so they spawn.

The candy shrimp was at my lps it looked cool figured i throw him in but i dont know what the scientific name is. I was thinking of 2 cleaners and 2 peppers along with the pistol and blood.

Should i have one or two prawns?

What do i do with the spawned shrimp?
sell or use them for food?

What is a camel shrimp?

What to do with spawned shrimp?

When my peppermints spawn they fry (or whatever they are called) are quickly eaten. I can't see selling them- who'd buy them? They are very hard to raise.

I would double check the species of shrimp you want to add - get Genus names or pictures, at least. Some shrimp can get along with their own and/or other species, others cannot. Those you listed are probably compatible, with the possible exception of candy shrimp, if it is indeed a camel shrimp.

No that was not the shrimp... the candy shrimp looked like a cand cane with red and white stripping but it looked really close to a cleaner shrimp with just different colors... i will get the scientific name from the dealer and check on the forums before i would put him in.

But for the other shrimp they would be good with each and the fish?

I think so, but I've never kept that many species together. Just try it, and make sure there is plenty of cover and territory for all. You definitely need to avoid predaceous species like the coral banded shrimp.

If you haven't seen it already, here's a link to a nice article on shrimp. It includes scientific names too.

Hey lisa that was the shrimp that was labeled as a candy shrimp at my lps thanks for identifing it before i put it in my tank i will check the sites....thanks for everyones help

they are nice looking, but will cannibalize each other if not a mated pair, could go after other shrimp, and aren't even safe around small fish.

good luck. I think you have really interesting ideas for stocking the tank. please post pictures.

Are you a marine biologist?

I will post some pics when the tank is up

Right now i ran into to some sump problems and i am changing my design so it is pushing me back a week
