125g Weight/Stand Questions

Hi, I will be making the stand (with my uncle) for a 125g Fowlr Tank. I have a few questions:

With water only, would the tank weight around 1250lbs?
Then with 100lbs of Live Rock that'd be 1350lbs?
Then with the 125lbs of sand that'd be 1475lbs?

That's nearly a ton, how would I build a stand to hold that much? Standard 125g Tank. Going to be a predator tank...or something along those lines.

Also, where would I put that in my house.

Steve, here's a link to a tank weight calculator that will give you a better idea of how much it will weigh.

Bottom line is......YES, it's heavy! Placing your tank close to a wall that is supported by the foundation of the house is best. If you can't do that, you may have to place your on supports under the house.

Check the DIY forum for stand building threads, if built properly, they can be very strong.
