Hey all, I was working on a water change today and HAY! what do you know only 1\2 of my actinic is working.. crap!!! The LFS I go to will be closed by the time I went down there where I bought my tank from.. not sure if they carry lights..

Do you have any recommendations on where to find places to buy replacement bulbs online? I'd love to have a backup ready for when this happens- and also what exact bulb is it?

If the light didn't burn my memory when I was looking at it its the model 2017? the stock info says its 2x27w dual sunpacts but having trouble finding the exact thing on a curosry search. Was hoping someone with experience could point me in the right direction, thanks!

Hey Chrisstie I had the same problem. For some reason 27watt bulbs are hard to come buy. Most of the LFS in my area have to special order them. Coralife does make a 28watt that works great, and have a better selection. I replaced both bulbs one with a true blue actinic and a 50/50 bulb. Tank looks much better than it did with the stock lighting. I got them from Aquabuys.com

I never ordered from this place but came across it the other day when a friend was looking for bulbs.
I just got an aquapod and see it is hard to find that size bulb.

Yes Christie they are the Current dual 27 watt bulbs.
they are both 50/50 lamps as the white is half 6700k and half 10,000k
the actinic is half blue and half purple 420nm and 460nm

as for apedroza if you switched to 1 all actinic and 1 50/50 half actinic and half white it may look better cuz it's more blue but doesnt give the corals much white light (only a half a bulb). Actinics don't do much for the corals they need white light.
