12g nano clams

my friend , hartford whalers (andrew)

has a 12 gal jbj nano, he wants to put halides on it, maybe 70, or 150 watts, hed make shaded areas, and id help him make a hood and coolign fans and that stuff, he wanted to do a clam or two, would he need a clalcium reactor, or would dosing the tank wiht kents calcium do fine?

you do not need a calsium reactor for a 12 gallon nano. The reactor would be bigger than the tank.

yea thought so, i thought the clam would suck up more calcium than you could put in though

I would say use supplements, B-Ionic 2 part has always been consistent for all my tanks.

I wouldn't go with more than one clam in a tank that size, but supplements will be fine. A calcium reactor is probably way too overkill.
