Here is the story, the quick boring part first. I had a 75 gallon but we were moving from Va to Fl So i traded the 75 for a 29 gallon bio ( thinking i was smart ) so i packed up the fish and the tank...... Crash :furious: i broke the bio cube not good whell still got to move, with fish in a bucket head to Florida.

So made the trip, quickly unpack a tub and in go the 2 clowns and the carpet nem, settled in. Now this is whats nice, having a mother thats know's nothing abought the hobby is thinking the fish will die if they are not in a proper tank, Goes out and buys me a new bio cube 29, I am  So now everyone is happy.

Now how the 130 came to life.....I was on craiglist in the free stuff and  i see Free 130 gallon tank and equipment......... So i call the guy and go and get the tank ( all i got, TANK, 2 Mag 7 pumps and a trashy Nautilus TE skimmer with a Mag 9 pump and a VHO light set )

So after getting it home, I start the stand And so far i have done a very nice job Pic's will come soon, Just right now i am at a cross road because i have no place to put it, and i dont want to leave it in the shed.

So should i finsh the project and hold on to it? or give it a little extra and sell it?

Selling it kind of defeats the purpose of the idea behind the guy who gave it away. Probably thought it was going to go to someone who was going to use it and appreciate it and not just out to make some money. Finish of the stand if you plan to use it, if not GIVE it away the way you found it.

^^^^^^
Agreed, with the exception of selling the stand if you really wanted to make a buck... but what you got for free turn around and give it away to someone that will want it.

But i would say damn it set the bad boy up! :) pics!!!

The guy who gave it away bought a house and the tank was a in wall build and he did not want it.

As you likely already know, running a large reef tank is expensive. IMO, the cost of a tank is the monthly cost of maintainance, not the intitial cost. If you are not prepare to spend the money, then maybe you should not keep it.
For keeping then tank
Pro: you got it for free and started on it already
Con: Not an ideal size for reer tank. Way too deep and too narrow. Perfect for FOWLR
No room.
Cost of running it as a reef. New light is a must

If you want a reeftank, get the best size and ideal config tank you can affort to run. I know that you got this for free but if I am you, I would not set it up. Finish the stand and sell it. I am sure you can get good money for it.

Is that a close loop under the tank? What about that brass under the tank????

Yes their is a closed loop, the brass is only temp for filling and draining when i was building the plumbing, their will be a PVC one in its place.

If i fully set it up, i was going to do my sea anemones and a small sea grass bed
and lots of goby's and real small active swimmer fish.

I am going to finsh the whole tank and test it. but not as salt water.
