130 gallon question

Hi everyone, im new at this forum, and i have some questions. First of all, im mexican, so english is not my first language, so forgive me if i express something wrong.

Well, here are my questions. I have a 130 gallon and i will have a sump. I was thinking on getting the DANNER MAG-DRIVE SUPREME 18, wich is rated at 1800 GPH, as the return pump. It will have a 3/4 flexible tube of pvc to carry the water to the top.

I just wanted to ask if you see that the pump will work correctly, or if maybe I would need a bigger one.

Also, does the bio-balls have to be completely under water??

Thanks a lot

Do not use bio balls, they are nitrate factorys and will cause you nothing but problems. As for the return pump, it all depends what your overflow is rated at.

IMO I would go with a mag. 9 or 12 you don't want to much flow going through your sump. the less the better IMO that way it give the equipment a good amount of time to do it's job.

BTW [welcome] and your english is very good.
