Right on glad too see you here

Is jimmy and kale still doing reefs or did they get out?

As of now they're not. All the stuff I just recently received was from Jimmy. (old live rock, power heads and other misc stuff) But they both seem to have an interest in getting back in from me sending them all the pics from my set up so far. I was the one that got them both into it in the beginning anyway, ha.

Right on, that's a score for sure. When you get that bad boy cycled and runing I got some corals I can frag up for you. I always wanted to go reef but was scared to till about two years ago when I found Rc and I jumped head first into it. Def made all the noob mistakes lol

Sounds like a plan for sure! I'll hit you up.

Cool little addition. Test fit an "ocean blue" led rope light for under the top of the cabinet. You all think it looks cool or should I axe it? Here's three different shots of it with all different room lighting from no light to all light to some light.

I'd go with a white light personally but it looks good. What room in the house is it going in?

Thought of that too. It's going in a front entrance hallway. The only other thing is, there will be tank lights that are close to this color. So, maybe white could be a better choice. When I ordered this, I was picturing more of a greenish blue, but apparently not.

Measure once cut twice right Ian lol. Looking good. Wish my stand had a ledge on it, I think when I move again in April I might do a different setup/tank if the wife will let me lol

Of course Nick! Isn't that the only way to do these projects? ;) Thanks, I got all the plumbing done and will be posting pictures tonight or tomorrow. Getting close to up and running!!

That thing looks good man! I guess its time for a stocking list. Whats going in that thing?

Thanks!
Well, I haven't put a lot of thought into that yet. But I do have a few fish I like, ones I had in my previous tank...

Chromis
Blue tang
Yellow tang
Pair of clowns (percula)
Foxface
Watchman goby

Others I like include-

Moorish idol
Anthias
Purple tang (although I've heard they don't get along with yellows?)
Sohal tang
Mandrarin
Clown trigger

I don't want to have a lot of fish really. I just want maybe 6-8.

I'd love any suggestions from anybody for my stock.

Heres a video of the initial trial leak test run on my beananimal. Luckily I had no leaks and everything went smoothly. It did take some time to dial in the gate valve on the full siphon but once it was in the correct position, it was perfect and quiet. I also did a simulation of a power outage and return of power. All worked with no problems. In the video, I had my return pump in the skimmer area due to the silicone still drying on the refugium baffle.

Heres the vid.
