I understand the ich life cycle. I know two weeks should take care of the ich assuming that the copper kills the Trophonts when they drop off the fish and kills the theronts before they can attach to the fish. Just not sure if copper is that efficient or needs a full cycle to kill. Either way I would think if the copper keeps the fish from becoming reinfected, after two weeks I should be able to do a transfer to a clean tank and be good to go.
I hate to say it but I got Ich and maybe velvet also, Not sure about the velvet. It almost wiped my tank completely out. I setup a 50g HT/QT and removed all my fish from the DT. My wrasses did not tolerate the cupramine and so I removed them and started TT with them. TT was easy with them but the other fish are much bigger and so I left them in cupramine. Now I have about finished the TT and want to put them all back together in a clean QT that has cycled/(no more water quality issues like in the tank with cupramine). Anyway, how I understand it, the longer they are in copper the harder it is on the fish.
