14 Gal cube - How much work

I have a 65 Reef with a lot of nice corals. We are moving across country for 12 - 18 months and I can't take my tank. I was thinking of starting a cube so that I could save some of my best DNA.

If I don't have any fish, how much work would it be to keep the 14 gal cube? I was thinking it would be very low maintenance. Can someone with experience with a small cube, give me their thoughts?

Everybody has different experiences and ideas of what to do with small tanks. Some people do a lot of water changes to their tanks and some people just do water top offs. I guess it depends more on what you want to keep in there and what type of water the corals like (clean or dirty).

i have a biocube 14, and onlychange 3 gallons a week. super easy and very enjoyable tank

My old tank was a 72 gallon and I was concerned having a 16 gallon would be harder to keep the right parameters compared to the bigger, more room for error, tank. Nevertheless, I love my nano more now.

I do a weekly 2-3 gallon water change, as i dont have a protein skimmer, make sure I don't need to update filter media, trim the chaeto occassionaly, and that is it. Much easier then the old big tank

I run a way big skimmer sump/fuge ATO and I'm not gonna do any fish. I run leds and plan to stock and feed heavy every day. I say don't half *** it but a aquaclear 110 fuge modded and HOB nano skimmer would be what I would do at the least.

We have been very successful with our BC14, it's been mod'ed with LEDs, overflow, 5g sump/fuge, ATO, skimmer, and I built a custom phosphate reactor. Oh 1/20th JBJ chiller (inline with return) and an MP10.

2 clown, 2 cardinals, cleaner shrimp, purple/orange lobster, tons of pods! A maxima clam, LPS & SPS.

We do 4g of H2Ocean every 7-10 days, some dosing, keep the skimmer clean and that about it. Pretty low maintenance. Maybe two hours a month.
