Good News and bad news.

The tank is in my livingroom and I love it. Thank you to my brother and his Translift and my husband and his home made dollies and my boys and their muscles, I have the best guys.

The bad new is the overflow is broken and there is a chip out of the inner bottom of the tank, the good news is Concept stands behind what they do and will be sending someone to replace the overflow and have a look at the chip, the bad news is that I cannot but it into position until they come so it sits in the middle of the room.

I am in the process of aquascaping using acrylic rods and quikrete cement, I am not having much luck with the quickrete, can anyone suggest something better?

You would have to explain what you're trying to accomplish with the concrete to get a helpful answer (pictures would be a good idea). Are you trying to use the concrete to join coral pieces or to build artificial rock?

Try the Quickwall from Quikrete, I found it easy too work with.

I have a cove on one end of the tank built with acrylic rod, on the other end I have a large cave but my problem is trying to build a tree in the centre with my tonga rock, the pieces I have are long and heavy and the cement does not seem strong enough. I am using Quckrete Htdraulic water stop cement, is this different from the Quickwall stuff? I will try and post pics tomorrow.

The acrylic rods must take the weight. Whatever other stuff you choose to use just holds the rock together. Some people have more success with pond foam. Another other option is the various forms of epoxy bonding putty like EpoPutty, though this can get expensive.

Hey Denny,

I haven't had any time lately. We are still working on the reno to the room, our stairs have been moved making the tank/living room much larger, now the tank looks like it belongs.

I have the plumbing started and the display is 3/4 full with nitrites. We had a custom sump built and I hope we will have it plumbed soon.

We have the tank framed in from the front and have decided on the rock to cover the stand, we still haven't figured out what to use above the tank.

I will try to get some pics up soon.
