14000k lights

Im currently running two HQI 250 watt 10000k lights on my 75 gallon reef tank, along with some actinic compacts. All is well, but ive been thinking of going to a bluer HQI bulb such as the 14k or 20k, and taking my actinics off. Will I get slower growth, and if so will a 20k bring it to a stand still. Im trying to get better color out of my coral, but was not sure if photosynthesis would suffer.

Depends... what 10,000Ks are you using right now? Ushios, for instance, arent all that bright. The pheonix 14,000K, which is more like a 16,000K, has a higher output.
