$15 PVC Overflow

I am going to use a 1 1/2 to 3" adapter at the top with a screen so I will have a round 3" for surface skimming.

But honestly is not the 3" better than nothing?

They say more is better, but a lot of corner overflow probably have less than you will have. If you still plan to use 2 overflow then even better.

For right now it is 1 PVC Overflow made from 1 1/2 PVC and for the Overflow has a 1 1/2 to 3" adapter on top so the open top of the drain is 3". But really a bit less since I installed a cone type of grill. I forget what it is called but it was a bit smaller than standard PVC sizes and it was Green. But I made an adapter to be able to use it.

I will have to take a picture when I am able as I am sure others would be interested in this.

I have a question about the check valves. Can you not just put airline on them and feed it back into the overflow inlet all the way into the elbow between e&f ? Wouldn't the flow from the overflow pull out the air automatically?
