Hi guys,
this forum is all new form me and i`m only starting to orientate here. I`m also new to the hobby, so i would like to share my feelings, doings about reef tank i started after around a year of studying on our local forum in Slovakia.
If this is not a good place for a presentation of a setup, please admins, help out
So
the tank: 150x55x60 cm with overflow in the left back corner.
filtration: 104 x 43 x 40 cm tank with 3 spacings.
1. overflow ending with skimmer (ATB nanosize B - really cool one
2. DSB
3. chamber is for the pump, pushing water back into the main tank, planning to add calcium reactor here, also some fliud filters (phosphate absorbers)
Volume of the setup si 575 liters of exact water volume (i`m still not sure if you should present water volume, or tank volume), (cca 150 gallons), main tank 450l, filtration tank 125 l.
The pump is deltec4040, very quiet
Light - DYI LED from one of my friends from SLovakian forum (JRx, thanks for that), 216 W.
The tank is approx 10 weeks old, after 6 weeks of cycling i started adding some small life:
1x lysmata amboinensis
1x hermit crab
after some weeks
1x p. hepatus (tiny size)
1x chrysiptera hemicyanea
2x a. ocellaris - captivity breeded
1x salarias fasciatus when algae started
some soft corals:
briareum sp., clavularia clove polyps, ricordea sp. orange colour, zoanthus sp. green colour
As a begginer, i was surprised how fast KH was going dow, i thought i`d add Ca reactor after some 6 months, when i`ll start adding hard corals, but now, i`m considering sooner, right now i`m adding KH buffer from tropic marine, should be mixed with salt without NaCl aready.
Here are some pictures:
pictures are few weeks old, there are some more big coral branches covering overflow, i tried to build the reef in a light way so the water flows without problems. Also there are some green algae growing right now on the live rocks.
Thanks for comments, i`m so excited about this hobby, it`s just like addiction
I`ll be happy for any comments
