150 hqi

I'm new to the sps game and have only minimal lighting(150hqi). I am 2 part dosing and was wondering if I can have any kind of sps under that kind if lighting, and if so ,which kinds?

I'ts a solana 34 gal cube 20by 20by20.

very vague question but yes, German is best imo
you'll definitely want a dosing pump or calcium reactor to keep things stable down the line.

definitely yes.
I have a 24x24x20 cube and 150w ushio 20k hqi bulb supplemented with 4 T5s. I can keep sps everywhere. the highest point being the middle. I switched to 250w radiums though.

if you're running 150W HQI, I'd recommend going with a 12-14K bulb (except phoenix 14K) and supplement with actinic T5s or LEDs. Most high Kelvin bulbs (20K or 14K Phoenix) are a bit weak in the 150W versions. They will "grow" most SPS but the color and growth often leave a lot to desire.

the general consensus with reef hobbyists on the best T5 bulbs seems to be the ati blue plus bulbs, uvl super actinics, and the geisemann power chrome bulbs. You wanna have an even number of 420nm and 460nm bulbs for a broader spectrum. fts coming your way
