150 shallow reef

I like what Vince did with his overflow but im kinda scared to cut the back pane. Especially since its .5"

yeah Vince was a brave man-) Use some dark acrylic or tinted glass though so you dont see the standpipes in there..

Lol, I'm not brave, I just don't know any better.

Definitely use some sort of dark or stain acrylic. I've been lazy, but will be going down to Tap plastic soon to pick up a dark acrylic piece to hide the standpipe.

The bean and animal overflow system is awesome. It's quiet, and self adjust itself within minutes.

Just a little update.

I finally have the pvc sheets glued together, and most of my overflow routed. I am doing a coast to coast overflow, but im building 2 wave boxes towards each end. The wave boxes are going to be behind the overflow wall so that i wont have any boxes in the tank. Im going to run 1 Tunze 6055 in each box with the 7091 controller. I have one now and im waiting on the other to arrive.
Ive been really busy with work and coaching my daughters softball team. Im not in a big hurry to build this since my 90 is doing fine.

Bryan,

Have fun with the new build! I think Dan is right, single LA... maybe a 400w up a little higher usual. You don't need to have intense light all the way out to the panes anyway. Is this one of the tanks Jesus had in his garage from the days of Coral Fantasy?
