150g and 300g Mix Tanks New Aquascape

As I mentioned before, I re-did the aquascape of my 2 tanks due to the growth of anemones, corals, and wanting to make it as simple as possible in terms of spacing and maintenance.
It's been more than a month. I hope the anemones stay where they are, and have enough room to grow.

would like to know how big are the tube you holding them in? how deep? how much sand?

The tubes are 4" elbow adapter pipes and about 6" deep.
I used rocks to block the other ends, put the nems in, waited for them to settle down, and then filled some sand on the side.
They've been in the tubes for more than 6 months.
The convenient is I can move them anywhere in the tank without worrying that they will move.
Hope this help.

nice. i always want to do a LTA, but i am bb since forever. i was think about that a few days ago. it's good to see it works well in real life. :) too bad i just missed a red LTA today...:(

I recognize that 300 gallon! I've been watching youtube anemone videos and your blue gig takes the cake!

Thanks lance_888.
To me, the benefits of going no sand is the maintenance part. It is much easier, and quicker to clean.

Did you do anything when planning the new rock arrangement or the placement of powerheads to get flow across the bottom?

Also do you do anything particular to keep the anemones healthy that you wouldn't otherwise do in a mixed reef?

Beautiful blue gig. Someday...

Thanks gibbous.

As you see, I don't have much rock in the tanks. My plan is to let the corals form the quascape as they are growing.
I did have to play with the power heads a lot though. The anemones are very sensitive about the flow, if it's too strong, or too weak....They will move.

No, I don't do anything different. I think making the corals happy is harder than keeping the anemones healthy. therefore, as long as the corals happy, I'm saved.

That is a Mertensii on the rock in your 150, correct?
Very nice, both tanks.
Do you have a remote sand bed in your system? Both tanks are in the same system or separate?
Have you lost any of your wrasse to your carpets?
