It is all 1" and the pump is a little giant. It pumps up to 1200gph. This is the way he had it set up for a few years, so it works and I'm just going with that for now.
UPDATE** The tank is getting filled as we speak. After a few hours, it has about 3" of water or so. I have the sand cleaned and in the tank(RO doesn't have force to move the sand around) I'm going to stop it when it is half full, and put in the rock and after that top it off.
