So.... Ive almost got my 150 gallon ready to set up. (Gary, i swear Ill send you my info soon :)).

I ordered a typhoon 3... and Im a little confused on how I can hook it up. I was kind of hoping to hook it up in the garage, maybe somehow splice it into the water thats going to the water heater.... is this at all possible? Anybody done this before?

Have you guys had any problems ordering stuff from rc members before? I tried to get a tunze 6100 from a guy, sent him the money, he flipped out, and finally got my money back 1 month later. Fortunately, I found another pretty solid guy selling some tunzes, and just got a multi controller, 6100 and 6000 in the mail yesterday. Those things are huge! And now I cant friggin wait to get em in the water!

All thats left now are halides (which Im gonna put on once the tank cycles, have some vhos for the cycle time) and a sump from glasscages. Ive been piecing all this together for 8 months now. Im about to lose it!

Also, a question about the asm skimmers. Are the recirculating and/or the gate vale mods must haves? Worth it at all?

Thanks for any input.

On the ASM, the recirc and gat valve mods are not must haves, but the gate valve is a nice one to have. I have a G5 that is in about 12-14" of water and it makes a lot of noise. The gate valve will get rid of the water sounds, but is not an xpensive fix. I'm not sure what the cost is if you buy them that way, though. I just ordered a gate valve (1.5") for $20. The rest is elbow and pipe.

Here is how my RO is hooked up to my water heater...
