150HQI 20" Sunpod...How do you have your lighting set.

I just received my 150w HQI Sunpod, and the color is really good. I currently have a 24jbj nano cube and was running the stock hood on top. I am a little new to a slightly more complex lighting configuration with the HQI and the six lunar lights. One set of the "lunar" lights seems a little more like early morning and the other one is obviously for night, which is much brighter than what i was accustomed to. What is the best way to set up the lighting on a timer. Thanks-Dave

i have 2 different timers. my MH is on a timer from 4pm to 10pm, my white lunar lights are on from 9pm-10pm, and my blue stay on all the time. the blue make all my corals glow brightly at night like actinics do. basically it looks like day, and then dusk, and then night since the lights overlap so that it doesn't go straight from bight MH to a dark night. it goes from BRIGHT (MH+blue LEDs) to dusk (white+blue LEDs) to night (blue LEDs). the reason i leave my blues on all the time is just because i didn't feel like getting another timer for them.

i have my blue leds on 24/7 and i run mh on timer from 12:00 noon to 8:00pm i dont use the white leds at all.

So the light has 3 cords? I just ordered the 70wt model. The pic didn't show the cords so I was wondering how that worked.

yup 3 cords and 3 switches

The lightig is amazing and such a big difference from my stock hood. I am noticing a little more evaporation!!! The three cords do come in handy when using a timer... Does anybody use a topoff on their nano cubes?

I have my photoperiod for 6 hours of metal halide. The white moonlights are on 2 hours before/after the halides and the blue are on the rest of the time.

Yeah, I use an auto top off on my 24G nanocube. Each setup is somewhat personalized, but go to aquahub.com to check out the components that I used. Easy to set up, saves a bunch of hassle!

On my Sunpod, the blue LEDs come on at 8am, whites at 9am and then MH at 10am. Reverse starting at 9pm and all controlled by my ACjr.

i neglected to mention that mine is so short right now for the fact or trying to clear up my hair algae...yuck...i am getting a new tank today though. a perfecto 37g column, and i am getting all new cured rock next weekend, so hopefully when i fill it up with ro water i won't have too much of an algae outbreak. i was using tap, so that's why it was so bad.
