165G Build

Good evening all,

I will soon be setting up a 165g tank, 62"x28"x22". I intend on the tank being mainly fish, with some mushrooms, zoas, and GSP on the bottom, maybe even a few LPS. Tank was custom built to fit into a niche in my living room and should be here next week. If the tank looks this good in pictures, can't wait to see it in person.

I plan on an Australian Tusk and a Blue Throat Trigger. I would also like a dwarf lion, and some kind of angel or tang, among others. Any stocking suggestions would be appreciated.

I plan on going bare bottom with black starboard. I will update the thread with progress pictures.

Thanks!

Nice-looking hardware! Can't wait to see it up and running.

Since you have a good amount of room, and based on your other fish ideas, you might want to consider a medium-bodied lion (Pterois antennata, P. mobassae, P. radiata) instead of a dwarf (I recommend a fuzzy if you go dwarf tho).

Personally, I like foxfaces over tangs...they aren't as nervous ("pacy"), have better dispositions, and are disease-resistant.

Large angels and lions don't mix well...the angels typically harass the lions to death.

I do prefer the radiata and antennata, but thought they would get too large. I've read conflicting information that puts the size from 7" all the way over 12". If they stay smaller, I would prefer either over the dwarf.

The blue throat being one of the most mild triggers, do you think he would be tempted to attack the longer fins of a radiata or antennata?
