Hey all,
I just bought a 16g Innovative Nuvo tank from Premium Aquatics. I had several gift certs and with the labor day sale, I couldn't resist. The tank is supposed to ship on Tuesday. This tank is to replace my 12g nanocube that has seen better days. I was going to wait and buy this tank AFTER I bought my Elos Midi, and buy a larger Tampa Bay Saltwater 'package' and split between the two tanks. But I'm itching to do something NOW and I won't have the time to set up the 36g Midi until winter.
So I am planning on purchasing the 15g 'package' from TBS. I do know that I don't want the crabs and they have already told me that it would be no problem to replace the crabs with more snails. And I have asked if they could make sure that no condy nems or the like come with the package as the lights won't support them. I will probably upgrade the lights in the future (a AI Sol Nano maybe) but for now I'll stick with the included lights. I have a feeling that there may be too much rock for the tank (especially when I mvoe over all my corals). Any additional rock will go into my 6g nano. I have a couple pieces of LR in there that I'm not all that happy with (shape) so replacing them would be no hardship
So do you all think that the 15g package would be good for a 16g tank? Should I order an extra pound of sand to make up for the 1lb difference or will it not matter that much? I hate the substrate in my nanocube so it's all going in the trash...YAY!! I'm up for any suggestions. I have no idea what I want the rock work to look like...something a bit different than what I already have...which is the two islands type of thing. The tank is 24" long and about 12" wide (some of this includes built-in filtration in the back).
