????

ok I tested everything today and there is no amonia?? I put three bags of carbon and the phosphrate/nitate.nitrie remover the other day. everything looks great. readings are fine. what gives?? oh what do you like to keep you salinity at?? some say 1.026, 1.022?? my tank is almost two months old. when is it done cycling>> also I took over 75 of live rock from my old tank which was up for two years and put into my new tank, tons of bio balls, sand, filter carteridges. 5 bottles of turbo start on the first 2 weeks. how much bacteria do you need???

One thing to concider too amy is that if you used all your old sand plus added new sand you could have disturbed a hole lotta nasty stuff when you transfered the old sand to the new tank. Many people dont use all the sand only a couple cups to help seed the sand bed.

Im not sure if you did in fact use old sand but it's something to concider. OH and get rid of your bio balls, they are bad news.

Kepp testing for a few days to make sure everything is consistant. Remember everything can go haywire at any time. Read some of my recvent posts :(

1.026 is 35 parts per thousand. (3.5%) That is the worldwide average for seawater. I prefer to keep mine around 1.024-5

ok just to be on the safe side I went to eddies to have everything checked out. am:0 nitrite:0 nitrate:.5 calcium was 450. I think my test kit is outdated or wacky. I told the girl at eddies that it was the one she sold me just over a month ago.
