About a week or so ago, I went over to Premium Aquatics with the intent to buy a 250W set up (14-20 K) with a magnetic ballast. Was going to be a dual PFO DIY retro. I was going to spend about $420 on the whole set up. Jeremy talked me into spending a little over $500 on a dual 175W set up. Electronic Ice Cap ballasts, and the 175W 15K Iwasaki's. I am so glad I listened to him. My wife and I are absolutely amazed with the appearance of the display and the inhabitants seem to love it. Especially the frogspawn and Red Sea xenia's. The xenia's looked like they were trying to split before, but that seems to have sped up a little now. The split is almost complete. The part that is splitting away is attaching itself to a different rock. On the recommendation of Jeremy and his staff, I did put in a couple of computer fans. They are the 4 inch ones and they are on a timer to be on when the lights are on. Water temp hits 80 on most days, 82 on a hot day when my house gets warm. Thanks to Jeremy. I am a Premium Aquatics customer for life. Jeremy, if you ever need any part time help over there, I may be interested.

Hi Gerald,

I'm glad you're happy with the setup. The Iwasaki on an electronic ballast is a very high par, low power consumption setup! You should get some really great growth as well as good coloration on your corals.

If there is anything else we can help you with just let us know.

Thanks again!
Jeremy

Is there much of a chance that the bulb will come down in price more inline with other 175 bulbs in the future?

I honestly don't see it happening with the distibution chain right now. They are passing through a few different hands before they get to the end user at this time. If that changes and Eye Lighting opens there distribution up more, then I think you will see it drop some.
