18" Queen Trigger

Hey jmccown - thats great news...... I would not even presume to offer advice on how to re-house this fish...... how big will she eventually grow?

Delighted that things are wroking out for you (and the fish) - and sorry for any side tracking we may have done to this thread...... its great that a "solution" may have come out of it!

Unfortunately it will be a major, major chore Matt. If I get this tank I'll likely tear out my 150g built in-wall and remodel to fit the bigger tank. Then there's the question "where to put the fish while I'm doing all this?" I guess I'm just the man for the job. Stay tuned....it may take a few months. I'm sure it will be a happy ending. The wife may smack me around a bit allthewhile. Oh well, I've been wanting to renovate a bit and make myself a new office anyways.

Sounds good Jim,
I would try it with other fish, you never know you may get lucky.
Mine is 14 inches so it is not that much smaller than yours, and he gets along with everyone. My 13 inch Black trigger chases him ounce in awhile though, which surprises me I thought the queen would chase thde black trigger.
Good luck on the build and I appolgise for getting on you.
Chris

Just to save you some time what about a deeper tank. I think think the 6' length would suffice but maybe go 36" deep. Doubles the width and gives this monster plenty of turning radius. Won't have to gut your walls too much just add on to your existing stand. You could build a little 2x4 stand to put the current 150g on to house her in your basement or something while your building the new one then sell the 150g when your done.

As for trying the queen in your 380 I wouldn't do it. There is a reason you always see these fish alone diving in the carribean. I have seen big angels, tangs, groupers, hogfish, puffers all in the same area or cave but never a queen trigger. There always alone. Makes you think. I have also seen them in the big shark tank at the atlantis aquarium in the bahamas. Anything that swims with 8' bullsharks and sand sharks and survives you have to wonder about.

Hi where are you in kentucky i have a 1000 gl. that i whould like to give her a good home. I would travel a good distance for her.
THANKS ALEX<><

Turbo1006, I would love to see pics of that 1000 gallon tank.

Jm, Your heart is in the right place and point well taken!
