Actually, you weren't ignored--not even close--so let's be straight about this. I discovered the fish I wanted to keep needed a bigger tank so, I went out and upgraded to a 180 on the advice of you and others after having a couple missteps with my 75. Or did you forget that?

And again, it's not the advice I mind as much as the tone. If I offend you, apologies, but as I said, I'm just trying to enjoy my love for this hobby and share my progress with others.

you cant say you ignored it because you put them in your 75 because of what you felt would be ok and videos you saw on the web. they all died and then you decided to upgrade.

I owned up to my mistakes and took the steps I needed to to make for a better environment for the fish I want to keep. I can't do any more than that.

You trolling and flaming me has gone on long enough.

WoW!!! I'm jumping on cause my next tank down the road is going to be 180 so i'm getting all the info from ppl has i can now. but looking good so far.

You will love the 180. Its so much more room than your previous tanks. I upgraded from a 125 and couldn't believe the amount of room it had.

Good luck!

Thanks, fewskillz. Love it already, although the vast expanse is somewhat intimidating. Gonna have to buy a lot more stuff. :-)

*Well, I got a skimmer. I picked up an Eshopps S-200 cone skimmer this afternoon and then I had to cut back some of the opening on the top of my sump to get it in. Yeehaw. I'm a cowboy!

Here's a video of the after. I wish I would have had someone there to tape the before and during. My crppy little Dremel wasn't up to the task. Drastic measures were then required.

Well, I added more rock today from the big batch I got from j.stacey and Ray. I also set up my ATO with an Eshopps gravity-fed and an 18 gallon rubbermaid bin. This thing is actually starting to look like a tank!

New fish and new backing for the tank!

Well, I picked up a Magnificent Foxface and a yellow tang this week. I spent part of today scraping the light blue paint off the back of my tank and then put on a deep blue aquarium backing. If I decide I don't like that, I can turn it around and go back. I'm pretty pleased with the results.

Here are a few pics and I'll be posting a new video of the tank paint scraping later on.

Before scraping:
