180 gallon tanks

How many of you out there with 180 gallon tanks are using a Sequence Reeflo Dart as your main system return pump from your sump, and how is it working out? Did you have to throttle back the pump? Do you have problems with microbubbles? Is it too much floww through the sump?

I have a dart now, and am wondering if it is too much as a return pump.

use a mag 9.5 for a return and the dart as a closed loop. isnt a dart like 3600 gph? Can your overflows handle that. Your skimmer wont have any time to proccess the water with that much flow thru the sump.

Closed loop is out of the questions at the time due to space issues. Extra circulation is likely going to be Tunze streams.

I have the Dart as my return on a 180. I turned all 4 overflow holes into drains and used large pipe in the plumbing. I return it to the tank through a manifold split into 4 1" returns over the back. I still have to dial it back a little bit due to noise and overflow. Seems to be working fine, looking back though - I might have gotten a smaller pump. I also use the Tunze streams on a multi-controller for additional flow.
Good Luck

reef_dude_76,

I have a 180g Oceanic with a Sequence Reeflo Dart pump.

I made some mods to my overflows and now I can have the pump on full blast going through two SeaSwirls.
