180 relocation project

I wish. I built the spacer and need to hang one more sheet of drywall. I am thinking about just spending the extra money and just building one whole new stand. I will post a pic of the spacer later. I looks like a bar window. lol If I build a new one I will definitely need a new sump. The new stand would be narrower. Since the tank will go into the wall 4 3/4 in. I will make the stand 20 in. wide instead of 24. I think I am going for the horse througher idea you had. However you spell that.

Dan, check with officespace, he had a couple that were sumps for his 220. He sold off his system, don't know if he still has the troughs or not.

dang city boys :) I bought my trough that I have in the garage for my koi quarantine from Colorado Agri-feed. Off austin bluffs and barnes. Its 180 gallon and oval shaped. what i like is the sides are completly smooth. With the typical rubbermaid ones they are stepped and I think its looks a little more trashy when Used as a sump. I dont remember the brand but go down there and have a look.

yeah i think it was around $200 or less, thats pretty good for 180 gallons. and it came with a bulkhead at the bootm installed.

When did you get Tunze Streams?? The price sounds good for something that big. I have decided to rebuild my stand. I am going to just build one and make it 4 3/4 narrower. I am also going to use 4x4's in the corners. That way It will makw me buy the *trough* and get rid of my POS sump. I have a four day weekend this weekend so everything should be done in the first couple of days. Hopefully my tank will be ready to move in a week. I would like some help. Free beer and pizza!!!! Let me know what weekend works for you guys. I think two pickups would work out best also. Mine to carry the tank and another to carry the corals, fish, water, etc. Scoot said he would hold my fish for me. I should ask about my corals. Or some of my more favorite ones. Sorry for the long post. I was on a role and it flowed. lol

I got the Tunzes a week or 2 ago. I love them, I wanted to do a second hammerhead closed loop but could not find anywhere to put it and have a clean install so I had to do the tunzes. But for 10,000 g.p.h. I would have had to do 2 hammers so by the time you buy all the pipe and spend a couple days building it all the tunzes are the cheaper way to go.
4x4's should work good in the corners as will doubled up 2x4's. My stand is made with all doubled up 2x4's I learned that stood on end a 2x4 will take around 2,000 lbs so you do a few of them along with some plywood to keep the tank from swaying and its almost always overkill.
Free pizza sounds good, I'll even bring my truck if you throw in some Jack ;) anytime sounds good, how about this saturday before the meeting?
As far as holding corals I can think of one fore sure I can make room for ;)
Alright I'm done with my long post now sorry I was on a *roll*

This Saturday. Hmmm I can thorw in some Jack. lol I will see what I can get done this week with my funds that I have. I get paid Thursday again. I htink I can buy the trough then. Hopefully I will get a snow day out of ths the next day or two.

I can help out, if you have the coolers, I think the corals and rock could fit in my Xterra, if I lay the seats down. We would want to get an early start though so we could hit the meeting.

I would help too but not this Sat. Im going to Denver with the Mrs. I wont be able to attend the meeting also.

I would love to move it this Sat. Will see what the weather is like. I have two big tubs and a trash can. Big Eric said he could give me some buckets and I think Chris said the same. I have no coolers. I really do not think it will take long. I hope to start taking stuff out in the next day. Taking some up to Scott. Do a water change and have some tank water in a tub here where I can just start putting stuff in. I will wait a couple days for everything to stabilize before I add stuff to the tank. Like the sand storm. I talked to a realtor today and the house is going on the market. This puts the boot in my *** to get things done.

It will probably take longer than you think. I would say it took me 2 hours (definately more than 1) to get everything out of my 58 for my move.

I have a couple 20gal tubs for the rock and some 5gal buckets and lids along with a couple fish boxes for bagged stuff.

Friday night if you think you would be ready or after the meeting on Saturday might be better choices. I would hate to get most of the way through moving you on Saturday and then have to choose between leaving you hanging or going to the meeting.

I would also recommend either washing your sand or using new. Otherwise you could get a big nutrient bloom from it.

I have a cooler and couple of buckets you can use. Here is a recommendation, maybe get your trough and set that up with water and heater. we can move the rock and corals into that and then worry about moving the tank. Once the tank is up and running you can xfer the livestock.
