180 relocation project

Your setup is going to be very nice looking though and well worth the time. I think it will be a huge improvement to the "decor" of the house which is good when your not living alone.

Little Eric is the best is'nt he? In fact I was going to have him load test my 10 gallon stand by sitting on it, but I found an 80 lb sack of concrete instead because I wanted to make sure I had "enough" weight on there to see if it would hold ;)

Lets see, an update. I hope to pick up my rubbermaid sump and cans this weekend. I am trying to finish my floors at my old place while doing this whole relocation. FUN!!! I have my tank back at the new house now that Little Eric helped me get the scratches out. Should have seen him sitting inside the tank lol. Thanks for all the help Eric. Your the man. I broke a bulkhead, but happened to come across one that I had from TJ. Wow so many Thank you's here. Thanks TJ. I still want to come down when i am not so busy and broke and see your store. I need to modify the stand and possibly wall to accomadate the bulkheads. Since my tank is a little different with the overflow on the short side. Think that is about it. Oh I killed all my live rock some how too. Luckily I have some rock at Scotts to help seed my dead stuff now. All I can think of for now.

Dan,
No problemo, I have so much stuff laying around it is not even funny. Although I now have the greenhouse fully erected and am hopefully getting a load of pea gravel deliverd this weekend along with the atc units and such. If you need anything ales holla.Tj

Russ I read that researched that when you and Eric were telling me about that. Very awesome watermovement for sure. Do you know if he perfected it? I thought he was having problems with the maxi stream? I guess you could use a SEIO or such. I really like his water movement though. Scott gave me a great idea for surge too. Almost 100% sure I will use that. Eric has me pretty much convinced to predrill now for a closed loop later. I am thinking about adding in a Vrotech later. Espically if they ever get the controller out. Are you going to do anything else to your tank for water movement other then the closed loop?

I was thinking about saving up the money to get those and then Cris reminded me about the vortech. I think they are a better design. Just need to perfect it. The Tunze's are awesome though. I thought you were going to put in a closed loop though? I hope to get my tank back up in running soon here. As soon as I get my floors done in the old house I will be able to spend quality time with my tank. lol

Ill have a CL and the streams. I dunno about the vortech though. I know Castlerock had one and got rid of it due to problems.

I was reading on the ICE CAP forum that they have newer versions out that are much better now then the older ones. I would love to give it a try. I try to buy American when I can. I know I am also a German citizen, but consider myself American.

Where you planning on running a maxi stream in it? I was really wanting to build one of those until I got reading the instability of the pump. Whenever I see you again I can show you what Scott gave me for an idea. Very simple and sounds great. Kind of what Keys runs.

Dan, if you plan on doing a CL and want to see the bulkheads I'm going to install on my Dad's setup (1.5" bulkhead w/ 3/4" eyelet)so you can see if you want to do the same thing on your 180, let me know. They were affordable for a bulkhead but when you order lots of them (8 for me) it starts to add up.

Thanks Eric, I need to find some inexpensive bulkheads now that I have pump for the close loop. !!! Thanks Chris your the man. I love the friends you make in this hobby.

Give me a call this weekend and we'll make a quick trip over there so you can see them... BTW you still SUCK getting that Dart. ;)

I have some 2" spa flex, if you need it Dan, fits right onto the inlet of the dart. It's about 26" or so.
