That's awesome. Now just finish it off with some diamond plate skin and you are set. :)

Lol, I could do it like the guy who did his whole sump area like a muscle car!

That looks sweet!!!! I'm actually getting the doors to my stand made in Ferrari Red. Its either gonna look really awesome or really stupid. ;-)

Thanks David! I'm sure it's going to look great. Make sure to post pics.

Here's a pic of the front skin right after I cut the doors. I decided to go with 2 big doors instead of 3 small ones:

I saw clkwrk's stand and he also did 2 big doors, it looks great. Big access areas, smart idea.

Do your doors like this. :)

Thanks Chris. After doing it like this I couldn't do it any other way. I'm finding a steel stand gives me way more design flexibility.

I got my canopy rough-built tonight. Here it is with the lid open:

Here's the front with the trim and accents just laid in place:

Here's a close up of the same pic:

I'm going to paint the inside white tonight.

That stand is awesome! I love the red color. Almost makes me wish I did mine in a color. You're probably going to be another person who gets their stand skinned before me :(. Oh well- looks great so far!

Thanks Scott. I'm aiming to have the skins done before I even put water in the tank. You have an excuse for taking longer: You're doing it much nicer than me! Nice takes time.

I made a little progress today. I got the canopy done.

Here it is before stain:

Here it is with the front open:

Here it is after the first coat of stain:

Looks nice.

Didn't your Momma tell you to wear your sneakers while doing construction. ;)

Nope, Mike called and said his canopy was done and he had a cold beer; so I ran out of the house and forgot to put my sneakers on :)

The stand and canopy are coming along nice Mike. I live the way the canopy closes and the trim lines up. It does a good job of hiding the joints where the canopy opens and closes.

Thanks Billy. I'm amazed the trim actually lines up like it does!
Truth is, it kind of lines itself up.
