It is coming along. Soon it might be back in action. :eek1: :eek1:

I did build the stand myself. But the sump was a collaborative effort with a fellow friend and reefer. I am working on the hood now and the system is cycling. I am going to use 3 Ushio 250 MH on PFO HQI ballasts and either 4 4ft VHO actinic with and offset installation format of possible 6 5ft VHO 4 actinic 2 50/50, or even 4 6ft VHO 2 actinic 2 50/50. Not sure yet, so many options. Thanks for all the praise. Will post more pictures soon.

Update 18JAN2003

Finally, we are well on our way to cycling. We have the rock in and are excited about finish this darn thing. The fuge is doing well and skimmer is up and running. Right now we are using a simple downdraft but hope to replace it with a EUROREEF CS8-3+ in the not too distant future. Things are going well. Hope you are all doing well. Take care.

It's looking awesome!! Can't wait to see it with livestock.
If you need an extra hand with anything, let me know. I'm only 5 minutes away.

Rock

Rock

Rothie,

The bulk of the rock I have had for more than about two years. I broke down the same tank you see in the thread almost a year ago to tile the room in which it now is installed. The rock was initially purchased form Seven Seas Aquarium. Some was received through donation and other yet purchased form Sea in the City. The rock has come from a variety of different places. These days Tonga is becoming quite rare. The best source of slab now is Haitian. I believe Seven Seas is your best bet for rock but you should also check out Sea in the City. I am not sure what Sea in the City has these days but in the past he has had some really nice stuff.

Its looking good. I dig the acrylic sump..Hate to steal your thread but here is my new 180g too. Still waiting for it to cycle Im still messing aorund with the aquascaping. Most of the rock was from my 315g, some new base and some bought from "bubba." Its either figi or caribean rock

Nice tanks guys. Teo , did you sell the 315 when you sold all your other stuff? Did you not like the acrylis oor was there another reason for the down size?

Welcome back! Nice to see your project is well underway. I'll look forward to see it when you host a future meeting :lolspin:
