Hi guys i am finally setting up my 180 gal tank, after having it sit dry with 1/2 my equpiment purchased due to time and money contraints.

This is what i have as far as equip.
Reeflo Snapper pump
two tunze 6100 and a controller.
nomal florecent lights.
two Life reef overflows for the corners.

This is what i am looking to do. i want to set the tank up using a natural method, no skimmer, alge filter and refuge.
I will eventully be going to corals and what not but currently only going to be a fish and live rock as the lighting requirments are not acceptable.

I should be able to get some amazing live rock as i did with my first tank. i just want to take it very slowly and not jack anything up.

As soon as the overflows reach i will be plumbing it up im hoping by mid next week. i plan on putting a 3" sand bed in the display tank and a 6" sand bed in the sump/ refuge.

The first question is this. I want as much water volume as possible, i am currently looking at two 36 gallon rubber made barrels for under the tank, each will be plumbed to a T and the t will go to the snapper for a reurn. OR should i go with a single 50 gal ruberade barrel and go straight to the snapper and return? i will baffell the sumps to keep all the good stuff where it should be.

I will send pics as i go along.

I look forward to hearing from you guys.

Regards,
Dru
