180g Complete Walkthrough- Updated

i have a few questions about your previous 120. you said you used 10k/20k/10k. how well did that blend? did it cause any heat issues? did you have a closed loop on it? what would you have changed if you did your 120 all over again? Sorry for all the questions, i just HAVE to know :D

The 10k/20k combo on my 120g blended well, except maybe 5-6'' on each side looked yellower because th 20k didnt reach the full 2' on each side.
I didnt have any heat issues on my 120g, I didnt even need a chiller.

Yea I had a closed loop on my 120g, it was drilled through the bottom and I had 4 locline outputs that went through my rockwork.

I would have have changed everything if I did my 120g over... I would do it exactly like this 180g only scaled down =D. I wouldnt change a thing about my 180g.

Can you give me a little more information about your generator backup? What brand is it? Where did you get it, etc.?

how often does the ball valve switch between the outputs?

It is a gurdian 15kw 100amp generator. You can see some different models here. I believe the place that it was bought at was Arizona Stand-by Power.

I sold the tank, stand, canopy, sump, fuge to someone locally. I kept some of the other stuff and used it on this tank(IE lights, tunzes, etc)

Right now I have the ball valve to switch every 3 minutes. You can set it to like 7 seconds or hours if you want to. However the ball valve is rated for like 2million switches and then you need to replace part of it. I personally like 3 or 4 minutes, but I know other people that do like 10 minutes.
 
what are you feeding your bellus, how is she doing? i just ordered a female from marine center too. yours looks great.
