180G UK reef

It takes time to settle especially with such small particle size on the sand. It will take a little while, but it looks like it has cleared up significantly just in 24hrs. Love the rockwork!

Very cool and looks awesome!!

I think you inspired me to re-scape my 120 FOWLR

Most of the rock in there now is DIY and it took forever to cure... (wish I knew about this months ago)
There's fish in the tank now, My concern is adding these fresh DIY foam rock section in an established tank...
So did you add those fish yet? How did it go?

Man, wish I would have seen this DIY rockwall thread before I did my 75g...that would have been great...75g is nowhere near what you have, but man it would have looked awesome...

Can't wait for those pics... :)

awesome idea!
I am setting up 4 nano's and am gonna borrow your idea for the backs. I always thought bare black backs needed some help.
Can't wait for the pics

Ok.....fish are in! Only fish left to add from the sump is an algae and a couple of anthias that hid in rocks in the LR sump (TBH they may not be caught any time soon!) Only added a couple of the easy corals to add - still got a few more in the frag tank but thats a weekend job.

Bluespot jaw fish went in yesterday. There's a good clean up crew in already of huge mex turbos and redlegs with ceriths, vibex, money cowreis and 7 blood shrimp to go in tomorrow.

few pics- bear in mind its all only a few days old so not exactly looking like a mature tank....but you get the idea! (now i NEED that decent camera for xmas!)

Only this end of the tank is lit (for the nem) so its a bit dark at the other end! 2nd halide (or maybe T5's going at the other end in the new year)

Very pleased with the dark blue background

The rock wall has so many hiding spaces every fish in the tank cab vanish in a second! At night it looks empty!

Black tang looked lonely and wife and kids said they much prefer yellow so added 2 little yellows - so far they all get on fine and the yellows follow the black around.

Rhomboid and bluespot

In an ideal world it would have been a bit bigger - but the aquascape and lots of smaller fish makes it feel big!

Stunning nem :)

You can see how little of the weir is on show - yet its shifting the return from two OR3500 with ease (and silet too....which is more than can be said for the vortech pump)
IMG_4106.jpg

George the Trigger hangs out here as its under the feeding ring which is 6" above the vortech...flake is added every 3hrs and pulled under by the vortech to be blown about for the fish to grab (if George doesnt eat it first!)

Next step is to tidy the sump room and add in the last of the corals - also got a big CUC to go in tomorrow to boost whats already there.

So far so good!

LOL, I swear there weren't any pics when I posted that. Anyhow, AMAZING. I love that look. Thumbs way up man.

That is awsome. You could do so much with that application from backgrounds to powerhead covers anything, thats just great. You should feel great about your tank it looks awsome i hope you keep posting pics i'd love to see that tank in 6months. Once again great job

I dont know if its me but I didn't see the blue spot in the pics... but everything else looks very nice. Lots of cool fish.

I figured it was there but hes a little blended in. How long have you had him because I've only heard of bad stories with those. I had one too and he just disappeared after a few months and no he didnt jump because the tank was covered and I had to move the tank later and never once found it on the floor.

Only had 2 weeks - also onlyheard bad stuff...fingers crossed. Tank is covered so hope he'll do ok - he's certainly feeding well.
